Adult Attachment Interview:
For the super self development interested and therapists wanting a roadmap of their individual’s and couples’ attachment styles and dynamics:
I want to share a resource with you that I offer. The Adult Attachment Interview (often referenced by Stan Tatkin and Dan Siegel) gives a client their specific attachment style, their therapist a roadmap (general overview of unresolved trauma areas for the client, not in a micro-managing way) to follow in therapy based on the client’s lived experience.
The general categories of anxious, avoidant, secure, and disorganized are broken down into 23 subtypes plus combinations and note areas of preoccupation and/or unresolved trauma.
Depending on their result, therapists can see how the client was parented which produced this attachment style. It can be a game-changer in helping a client reorganize toward earned secure attachment style.
