Who Am I?

My background of growing up on a farm in the prairies, completing my degree in Alberta, grad school in Saskatchewan and working in an addiction treatment center on Vancouver Island has taken me all over western Canada! My adventurous side has led me to travel throughout Asia and incorporate many aspects of eastern philosophy/spirituality into my daily life and practice. I have a deep passion for working with people and am excited to bring IFS therapy to everyone!

What Can I Do For You?

Do you struggle to understand your reactions from trauma, relationships or your inner self talk? Are you held back by fear, anxiety, low self-worth, setting boundaries or anger? I can help you navigate these bumps on your road and to rediscover your self-worth.

I am passionate about working with clients to explore and resolve patterns of codependency, relieve symptoms of anxiety and depression, and offer guidance to those seeking growth in areas such as self-worth and self-esteem.

Fun Facts About Me

As a self-proclaimed tech nerd, I take real pride in providing HD quality camera and podcast quality audio in his online counselling sessions. I have travelled throughout Asia – Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Korea. I enjoy Cycling as my hobby – my longest ride was 101km! I have been vegetarian since I was 18 (14 years). I am a huge football/soccer fan – (Arsenal is my team). If I wasn’t a Counsellor, I would like to be a Race Car Driver. If I didn’t live in Canada, it would be somewhere warm!

Education and Credentials

I completed my Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and I specialize in counselling clients who are dealing with issues related to addiction and codependency. I also have a Bachelor of Health Science majoring in Addictions from the University of Lethbridge.

My Approach

I prefer to use Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Somatic Therapy techniques, with a perspective rooted in Eastern philosophy and Buddhist principles. I have IFS Level 1 Training with Jessica Finney and Jory Agate.

As a result, insights about thinking patterns are explored in practical and nonjudgmental ways. Having worked closely with themes of trauma and loss, over time, my sessions have come to be more rooted in the belief that the basis of health begins with self-worth and self-compassion. I view counselling as a transformative process where the therapeutic relationship built in-session begins to change your inner relationship and over time, naturally improves your confidence, and strengthens your ability to create lasting change.

I believe in a collaborative non-judgmental approach that focuses on you reaching your own therapy goals. Through my experience, I have learned that having a soft approach that is focused on connection, respect and understanding is key. This provides a basis for individuals to explore the origins of habits, thoughts, patterns that may have protected you from pain in the past but now hinder your progress in living the life you want.
