Who Am I?
Hi, I’m Paige! I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC, and I’ve lived with anxiety for as long as I can remember, so I can understand how difficult the process of reaching out and asking for support can be.
With that in mind, I am passionate about helping both individuals and couples overcome the patterns that are keeping them stuck and do not serve their potential or their growth. I believe that we all hold the inner capacity to heal and to move forward, and in our work together, I hope to help you access this innate resilience and healing.
I work with individuals and couples dealing with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, worry, panic, depression, feeling lost, disconnected, or directionless, PTSD, complex PTSD, relational or attachment injuries, relational stress, managing stress, life transitions, identity, issues at work, addiction, couples counselling, compulsive behaviour, issues with eating, issues with sexuality, life balance, and growth.
What Can I Do For You?
Have you noticed that worrying is negatively impacting your life or your relationships? You may have noticed the feeling of being hijacked by worry, distressing thoughts, and rumination. Or perhaps you’re feeling overwhelmed, having difficulty falling asleep, or feeling stuck in life.
Do you and your partner no longer feel connected and supported by each other? Do you look at your partner and wonder where the person you committed to went? Do you feel like your partner is a stranger, and experience loneliness?
Whatever it is you’re dealing with, if you’re looking for a change, I can help.
Fun Facts About Me
I have backpacked through 25 different countries. I took Russian in university and attempted German. After I graduated, I lived in Australia for a year. I grew up in Ontario, spent 7 years in Alberta, but have made BC my permanent home with my husband, young son, and our St. Bernard. I love to hike, explore, swim, and read.
My Approach
First and foremost, I work from a person-centred approach, so our sessions will be tailored to your needs. In my work with individuals, I draw from multiple perspectives, including the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, attachment-based theory, mindfulness-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).
For couples, my approach is based on attachment theory, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
I spend my free time with my young son, my husband, and our dog, reading, learning, and enjoying the view.
Education and Credentials
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Calgary, as well as a Master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. In addition to my academic credentials, I also hold several professional certifications, including:
